One Week Until Fun Night!

Okay, Mighty Hawks!  Fun Night is one week from today and we still have some volunteer slots to fill.  Please take a look and see where you can pitch in to make this event happen for our kids: Sign Up Here!

Lots of cakes are needed and there are several one-hour time slots in game rooms that need to be filled.

Spring Youth Sports Sign-Up is Underway

Recreational softball, baseball and soccer registration is open now for K-12 students.  View the registration flyer for details.

Who's ready to think school supplies?

If you like to plan ahead or just don't want to hassle with going out and purchasing school supplies, Lucas will once again be using School Kidz service to order pre-packaged supply kits.  Details are available here.

District Screening Process for Extended Learning Program (ELP)

Grades K-5 ELP Parent Nomination

The yearly screening of students for participation in the Extended Learning Program (ELP), the elementary program for gifted and very high ability students, is underway for the 2015-2016 school year. This program is appropriate for students who are at the highest academic levels in their grade. Students can enter this screening pool by Iowa Assessments scores, teacher nomination or parent nomination. An informational meeting for parents will be held in the Little Theater at West High School on March 5, 2015 at 7:00 PM. More information is available at http://goo.gl/ilBSn6. If you would like to nominate your child to be tested for ELP services, please complete a parent information form. Forms will be available online between February 23 and March 12, 2015 at http://www.iowacityschools.org/pages/ICCSD/Virtual_Backpack. The link is called ELP Parent Information Form Grades K-5. Paper forms will be available in the school office during the same time. If your child is already receiving ELP Tier Two services, please do not submit another parent form. No forms will be accepted after March 12, 2015 at 4:00 PM.
