School Board Candidate Forums

This is a huge election season for the Iowa City Community School District School Board. Five of the seven school board seats are up for voter consideration - four 4-year seats and one 2-year seat to fill a resignation vacancy. Ten candidates are seeking four 4-year seats, and three candidates are seeking one 2-year seat. The candidates elected this cycle will have significant impact on issues such as class sizes, managing the budget, facility renovations and closures, school start times, and redistricting.
